Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship
The Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS) seeks to bring superior pedagogy and premier technology together in the classroom. Since 2000, CNDLS has actively supported faculty and graduate students with the resources required to achieve best teaching practices. As a collaborative program, CNDLS works with a variety of academic departments, including English, to optimize teaching practices and assessments, learning environments, course design, and classroom technology. Students interested in CNDLS can pursue a CNDLS graduate assistantship, the Apprenticeship in Teaching Program, or attend teaching workshops.
The CNDLS graduate assistant focuses on a variety of technology-based initiatives and professional development projects. S/he contributes to the overall operation of CNDLS while gaining a unique insight into the dynamic resources available to faculty and developing pedagogical awareness.
CNDLS also offers an Apprenticeship in Teaching Program available to all interested graduate students at no charge. The AT program seeks to enhance the teaching practices of graduate students through mentoring programs, workshops, and Authentic Teaching Tasks.
