Dana Luciano has won the Modern Language Association/GLQ Caucus's Crompton-Noll Prize for best article in LGBTQ Studies for her essay “Nostalgia for an Age Yet to Come: Velvet Goldmine’s Queer Archive,” which appeared in E.L. McCallum and Mikko Tuhkanen, eds., Queer Times, Queer Becomings (SUNY Press, 2011). The award will be presented to her, along with this year's other winner, Marlon Bailey, at the upcoming MLA Convention. Professor Luciano currently holds a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship at the Huntington Library, where she is completing a book entitled Romancing the Inhuman: Animacy and Eros in 19th Century America.
