Carolyn Forché’s memoir, “What You Have Heard Is True,” was recently featured in The New Yorker by Hilton Als. The article is titled, “Carolyn Forché’s Education in Looking.”
Als writes, about a quarter of the way through the piece, “She asks us to consider the sometimes unrecognized, though always felt, ways in which power inserts itself into our lives and to think about how we can move forward with what we know.”
