AB/MA English Program

The department’s AB/MA English program allows qualified undergraduate Georgetown University students to enroll in up to two graduate-level English courses during each semester of their senior year. Interested students must apply during their junior year. Two of these courses will also count toward the undergraduate major in English.

The Graduate School considers AB/MA students part of the Master’s program, and they are automatically admitted following their undergraduate graduation, though they are not obligated to continue. Please notify the Program Manager by the time you graduate if you do not wish to continue.

Apply to the AB/MA English Program

Students should first contact the Program Administrator to notify them of their interest in the program. Then, they should follow the standard application procedure for the Master’s program during their junior year. The GRE test scores are not required for admission to the Master’s program.
