Events Across Campus

Below is a compilation of creative writing/arts events (that we know of!) happening across campus for you to attend. As we get closer to the start of a new month, additional events and call for submissions will be posted here.

Weekly Events:

  • Creative Writing Club has a workshop every Friday at 5pm in ICC 216
  • The Anthem (literary magazine) has a meeting every Thursday at 8pm in Leavey 409

Contests/Call for Submissions/Auditions:

  • The Anthem 
    • Accepting submissions for their Fall Issue until 10/30. All prose, poetry and visual art is accepted for review to be published in the Fall magazine.
    • Halloween Contest from now until 10/23 where anyone affiliated with Georgetown can submit prose, poetry or visual art inspired by our prompt for a chance to win a $25 gift card. The prompt this year is: “In those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, but death shall flee from them” [Revelations 9:6].
  • Nomadic Theatre
    • Holding auditions October 18–20 for their winter production, The Wolves (written by Sarah DeLappe, in collaboration with the Black Theatre Ensemble)
    • Signups will be posted on their website and Facebook page
  • Poetry Society of America
