The department is excited to announce that Prof. Mecca Jamilah Sullivan has been named a Scholars-in-Residence Fellow at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture for the Fall 2023 term.
The historic Schomburg Center Scholars-in-Residence Program offers long-term and short-term fellowships to support artists, scholars, and writers working on projects that would benefit from access to the Center’s extensive resources for the study of African diasporic history, politics, literature, and culture. As a fellow, Prof. Sullivan will be working on her next book, a hybrid creative project about language, diaspora, and Black queer history.
Congratulations, Professor Sullivan!
