The department is excited to celebrate Rebecca Boylan’s online talk on Monday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. as part of the collaboration between Georgetown and Blackfriars Hall Oxford in the Global Humanities. This year the panelists were asked to focus on Cultural Encounters: Books that Have Made a Difference as we pay renewed attention to others in their otherness. Rebecca’s talk was titled: “The Dialectics of Remembering and Forgetting: Uncanny Atonement in Thomas Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles.’
