Peggy K. Lee Selected for Penn State First Book Institute
Peggy Kyoungwon Lee has been selected as one of eight participants in the First Book Institute at Penn State, a highly competitive program housed in the Center for American Literary Studies. The institute supports scholars in transforming their first book manuscripts into impactful projects positioned for publication with leading university presses through intensive workshops, mentorship, and collaborative feedback.

Lee’s project, ‘Unflinching: Politics of Racial Composure,’ theorizes composure as a racialized aesthetic of debility across the visual, literary, and sonic registers of women of color cultural production and activism.
