The second day of the 2011 Lannan Symposium, WRITING DANGEROUSLY IN IMMIGRANT AMERICA, includes a discussion with Haitian author and memoirist Edwidge Danticat on Haiti, the earthquake and the role of the immigrant author; a panel with Charles Bowden and Hector Tobar on the legacy of U.S. Cold War and Drug policies in Central America and Mexico; a performance by local artist Quique Avilés; and finally, a reading by poets Juan Felipe Herrera and Cristina García in the Gonda Theater.
