Congratulations to Miranda Rose Hall (COL 2011) who has been awarded the 2009 McTigh Prize. Ms. Hall is a double major in Theater and Performance Studies and English in the College of Arts and Sciences. As the recipient of this year’s McTigh Prize, Ms. Hall will deliver a student welcome speech to incoming first year students at New Student Convocation in August.

The McTigh Prize is named in honor of Dr. Thomas P. McTigh, now deceased, who was a faculty member at Georgetown for over 40 years and former chair of the Philosophy Department. The prize is awarded each year by the New Student Convocation Committee to an outstanding undergraduate who has demonstrated superior achievement in scholarship and service to Georgetown and the community.
