The Department is pleased to announce that Professor of Law & Humanities, Kathryn Temple, has been awarded the Provost’s Innovation in Teaching Award for her contributions to the innovative development and structure of the Master of Arts program in Engaged and Public Humanities. The award was made possible through a generous gift from Bill (B ’92) and Karen Sonneborn and includes support for Professor Temple’s research. As the founding director of the program, Professor Temple began pursuing this project in 2012, received a Mellon grant for its development in 2014, and launched it in 2020-2021. In recent years, Professor Ricardo Ortiz has overseen the development and growth of this successful program, currently housed in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Congratulations, Professor Temple!
