MA Student Katherine Burd Receives The Edith Wharton Society's Elsa Nettels Prize for Beginning Scholar

Master of Arts in English student, Katherine Burd has won the Edith Wharton Society’s Elsa Nettels Prize for a Beginning Scholar, for her paper titled, “Dangerous Dispossession: Amputation, Bad Atmospheres, and Environmental ‘Slow Violence’ in The Spoils of Poynton and The House of Mirth.” Katherine will also be presenting her paper at the Northeast Modern Languages Association Conference in March 2019 at the Gaylord National Resort Center in Washington, D.C.
