The Disabilities Course Cluster is currently featured on the home page of the Georgetown University website, thanks to Professor Libbie Rifkin’s efforts along with various faculty colleagues over the last several years. In case you’re wondering what exactly is Disability Studies, the feature gives a great definition of this emerging field:
“Disability studies is an emerging field that critically analyzes the concept of disability across different cultures, time periods, and academic disciplines. It raises challenging questions about the way we define physical and mental abilities, as well as the assumptions we make in designing and talking about our world.”
