Gay Gibson Cima Named 2015 Distinguished Scholar by ASTR

The American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR) has given emeritus professor Gay Gibson Cima the 2015 Distinguished Scholar Award, which is bestowed each year on a “scholar whose body of work has made a significant contribution to the field of theatre, dance, opera, and/or performance studies.”

Additionally, Professor Cima’s recent book Performing Anti-Slavery  won Honorable Mention for ASTR’s 2015 Barnard Hewitt Award for Outstanding Research in Theatre. (She won this award in 2007, for her book Early American Women Critics.)

Congratulations to Professor Cima on these wonderful accomplishments!
