EGSA Open House Celebration Recap

Posted in Announcement  |  Tagged , ,

Thanks to the hard work of EGSA, graduating M.A. students took to Dahlgren Quad last Thursday to celebrate their thesis research and welcome newly admitted students. As the only matriculates to have experienced the entirety of their graduate work during a pandemic, our 2022 M.A. graduates have worked diligently to create thoughtful and innovative thesis research under less than ideal conditions, and we could not be more proud. On behalf of the Department of English staff, we hope you enjoy these photos as we hope to celebrate the hard work of our graduating M.A. students!

Students and faculty members gathered under the Dahlgren Quad tent for light refreshments and discussion.
Sophie Grabiec (EGSA Chair) facilitated the opening remarks.

Lily Nagengast presented her thesis project, which focuses on contemporary representations of rural American femininities in media and memoir.
Sophie Grabiec formatted the components of her thesis project into a well-organized website.
Anne Dellinger (EGSA board member, Professional Development) took to sharing her thesis project, which expands on her scholarly interests on documentary reportage, visual theory, and collaborations between writers and photographers.
Current faculty members, M.A. students, and newly admitted students attended the event.

A special thanks goes out to EGSA for hosting the event, as well as office coordinator Chris Doyle for making the event a success!
