How To Apply
You Must Submit the Following
- The Application Form
- A thesis proposal—critical versus creative writing thesis proposals have different submission requirements. Click the links below for more information.
- An 8–10 page writing sample (separate from the aforementioned proposal) demonstrating your proficiency in the genre of the proposed thesis
- Two letters of recommendation, one of which should be from a Department of English faculty member
- Note: The professor should send their recommendation using the Program Candidate Evaluation Form. This should NOT be submitted by the student. You are responsible for requesting that your recommenders complete this form by March 24, 2025.
- An unofficial transcript
How and When to Apply
Please fill out and attach these materials via the Google Form: English Honors Application 2026-27. Any questions about the application process should be directed to MA Program Administrator Chris Doyle(Christopher.Doyle@georgetown.edu) and CC’ing the Director of Honors, Prof. Nicole Rizzuto (nr381@georgetown.edu).
The deadline to apply for the 2026-2027 English Honors Cohort is 11:59 PM on March 22, 2026.
Late applications will not be considered.
- The Honors Committee will evaluate the proposals and post the results before the registration period. All decisions of the Honors Committee are final.
- Interested candidates may contact the Director of Honors, Prof. Nicole Rizzuto, with any questions.
